Tipico, the German sportsbook giant, continues its journey into the US market by signing its first content partnership deal with NetEnt.
The new content deal with NetEnt, which is one of the largest eGaming providers in the world, is just the latest in Tipico’s attempts at breaking into the New Jersey gaming market and launching into the rest of the continental United States.
Tipico brings 15 years of experience from Europe in its attempts at making a splash in the US market. As part of the deal, NetEnt will provide a number of slot and table games for use on Tipico’s new online gaming platform.
Additionally, Tipico will be able to access NetEnt’s own marketing tools. This exclusive suite is available exclusively for certain NetEnt clients. Tipico will have these tools at their disposal for getting ahead of the competition in the crowded NJ gaming market.
Tipico is still in the middle of trying to acquire a gaming license to operate in New Jersey. The company has teamed up with Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City to help it obtain its license from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE).
The managing director of Tipico US, Adrian Vella, said the following in response to news of Tipico’s NetEnt partnership: “We are excited to begin our partnership with NetEnt as we kick-off our expansion into the US. With a proven track record in the New Jersey market and their well-known catalogue of branded games, we’re confident that our customers will love NetEnt’s offering.”
NJDGE is unlikely to rush through Tipico’s application for a gaming license, though. Online casinos and sportsbooks are still relatively new to the US, with the majority of states still yet to legalize these platforms.
For that reason, NJDGE will likely take the extra time to scrutinize Tipico and its application.
Brian Kraft, the vice president of commercial for NetEnt America had the following to say, “I’m looking forward to having our games in front of players and working with Tipico to grow their business in the US.”
Not only is this deal a real coup for Tipico but also NetEnt, as the German company approached them and concluded a deal before any of the other major worldwide gaming providers.
Tipico has already made a clear statement of intent by signing a range of partnerships. In the previous week, Tipico signed an agreement with Scientific Games to use the OpenGaming product suite.
This will give Tipico access to more than 2,000 different iGaming products to use on its New Jersey platform.
New Jersey is by far the most developed market for online gaming and sportsbook providers. Practically every big name in the US has a position within NJ. This means that Tipico will need to build brand awareness and provide an innovative platform packed full of games if it’s going to acquire a respectable market share.
However, Tipico’s performance in its home market of Germany is impressive, and if its track record is anything to go by this organization could become a real wild card in New Jersey’s crowded market.
